OCTOBER 31-NOVEMBER 1, 2009 TENTATIVE SCHEDULE OF EVENTS Friday 10/30 Fun sailing & socializing Saturday 10/31 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. Regatta Registration, 9:00 a.m. Mandatory Novice Meeting, 9:30 a.m. Mandatory Skippers' Meeting Approximately 11:30 - Long triangle series racing 6:00 p.m. - Group potluck Sunday 11/01 9:00 a.m. - Skippers' Meeting - Short triangle series racing immediately following Approximately 3:30 p.m. - Trophy presentations (Saturday & Sunday combined results) REGATTA ENTRY - $40.00 includes Sat. & Sun. Race Fees, if received by 10/01/09 REGATTA ENTRY - $50.00 includes Sat. & Sun. Race Fees, if received after 10/01/09 ALL ENTRANTS MUST NOTIFY SCOTT AGAN IF YOU ARE INTENDING TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT BY SEPTEMBER 01, 2009. WE NEED 15 BOATS IN ORDER TO COVER THE COST OF THE TWO PONGAS NEEDED EACH DAY. scottagan@earthlink * IT IS RECOMMENDED that entrants carry a VHF or hand held radio (in waterproof bag). There is coastline for beaching along most of the course. $20.00 in your pocket is a good idea too. All entrants are required to wear life vests and have whistles, water (no alcohol), and food on board. Also required is a tow rope. SATURDAY NIGHT 10/31 - Potluck at 6:00 p.m. at Regatta Headquarters. If you wish to participate, please bring a dish to share. Fleet 42 will provide snacks and hors d'houerves for all just prior to the potluck. Please plan on joining us for an evening of socializing and recapping (or retelling) sailing adventures of the day! Also, for the kids, and the kids at heart, we will be having a Halloween Party with goodies, prizes, and a few surprises. Have the kids dress up in their best Halloween costume and join us! PLAYA BONITA RV PARK RESERVATIONS - Fleet 42 has blocked #30 spaces for the Challenge Weekend. If you are planning on attending the Challenge, you need to make those reservations NOW. Don't count on there being spaces if you just decide to show up because here is what is going to happen: A week (7 days) before the event, Claudia is going to call and see how many spaces are left open. Unless she hears from someone needing a last-minute spot by THURSDAY October 22, 2009, she is going to cancel the balance of spots left open and give them back to Playa Bonita to rent out.
